Salvaged from a building fallen into disrepair in the desert state of Gujarat, this Indian lintel would have been used above a door and depicts the Hindu goddess Lakshmi in the centre. She is framed by intricately chip carved horses with elephants to the sides This style with horse corbels is classically found in India and dates from the 19th century. It would look fabulous on a wall or above a mantle piece.
