Blue & White Porcelain Hexagonal Tea Caddy Lamp
This beautiful table lamp has been converted from a reproduction Chinese porcelain tea caddy decorated with calligraphy designs. A truly unique lamp that would look great in any room.
Vases and jars like these are made on the potter's wheel in the traditional way in small workshops in Jingdezhen which is still the center for the best quality porcelain.
Porcelain is steeped in centuries of Chinese culture and history. Even though pottery developed in China 15,000 years ago, most experts believe that true porcelain -which also originated in China - didn't emerge in the region until the Han Dynasty -202 BC to 220 AD. Blue and white porcelain is glazed using a transparent porcelain glaze dating back to the Tang Dynasty - 618 - 907.
Wired and PAT tested in our UK workshop.
