This is an excellent example of an antique Chinese traditional apothecary cabinet from Shanxi province. Traditional medicine was stored in this fabulous antique apothecary chest. It has the original painted drawer labels naming the various natural minerals and herbs that were mixed by the practitioner for each patient.
Constructed from elm, all of the 14 drawers have 9 individual compartments inside. An iconic piece that is fantastic for storing iconic curios.
