This wonderfully carved Indian shrine would have been set into a wall and used to house the family's favorite deity in a Hindu Gujarati household. Dating from the 19th century, the central area has been converted to hold a shelf. The traditional Mughal mirhab arch is flanked by two pillars surmounted by parrots.Ā
