This style is most often from Rajasthan & Gujarat in Northern India and is constructed from teak wood and iron. Grain measures like these were used in markets for measuring wheat, corn, rice, and pulses. In the old days, the Indian measures were Seers & Pattis. In Gujarat these measures are called mapiyun.
