Painted Indian Reclaimed Door From Patan - 19th Century

Painted Indian Reclaimed Door From Patan - 19th Century

This lovely teak painted door has been salvaged from an old building in Gujarat. It has lots of the original paint and would look great in an old cottage or displayed in a modern house on a feature wall.

These doors are saved from buildings in India which have fallen into a state of disrepair and are no longer in a repairable state. As with most Indian doors, they would have originally operated on a pin and post system and not on hinges. The frame has been customised to allow for hanging with modern hinges. They would have originally opened inwards.Ā

Although this is a heavy piece, Indigo Antiques have a trained delivery team to bring it into your home. We can provide assembly advice to your builders however we will need to discuss your hinge and hanging requirements before arranging delivery. Hinges may incurĀ a small additional charge depending on your specifications.
